Hits & Jams finally settle T-Pain case

After three years of court-battle, Hits and Jams Entertainment, LLC and Grammy Award-winning artist, T-pain settled the dispute which stemmed from the artiste’s no-show at the 2009 Mash Mega Concert.

“We have determined that none of the parties involved were at fault and we look forward to successfully growing our respective businesses”, T-Pain said.

In 2009, T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Touring and Chase Entertainment management/ promotion were slapped with a US$5million dollar lawsuit after Pain pulled out of the February 23rd event because of alleged kidnapping and death-threats. HJ quickly came under fire after thousands of outraged patrons who had already bought tickets, some of whom were traveling from abroad to attend the event publicly expressed their disappointment.

The following month, the entertainment team and Miami lawyer Ron Lowy lodged a US$5 million breach-of-contract claim against Pain and Nappy Boy. They also filed libel and defamation counts against the defendants.

“We are happy that we were able to affably resolve this matter and both parties are content with the outcome”, said Kerwin Bollers of Hits and Jams. “We recently worked with Neyo, Trey Songz, Eve and Hip-hop/Rap Mega-star Rick Ross and we’re also open to working with T-Pain and his team in the future”.
