Spice is pleased with her four nominations in the upcoming Youth View Awards (YVA).
The awards ceremony, now in its ninth staging, is scheduled for the National Indoors Sports Centre in St Andrew, on February 20.
“Whether I win the awards or not, the fact that I have received multiple nominations again shows that my work is being recognised. I appreciate all my fans, and I thank them for their love and support. I had a great year last year, and I promise to make 2016 even greater,” she said.
Spice has been nominated in the categories: Favourite Local Female Artiste of the Year; Young Hot and Hype Female Artiste of the Year; Fashion Icon Female; and Favourite Local Music Video (Needle Eye).
Last year, Spice (given name Grace Hamilton) was nominated for a total of eight awards. She managed to secure only one: Favourite Local Female Artiste of the Year.
Spice’s hits include Jim Screechie, Fight Ova Man and Slim Versus Fluffy (a collaboration with Pamputae). However, her biggest single to date is Ramping Shop, a 2008 collab with Vybz Kartel.
Other multiple nominees in this year’s YVA include Alkaline with seven, Popcaan with six, four for Aidonia, and two nods for Vybz Kartel.
The winners in each category are selected by text vote, which closes on February 18.
