Busy Signal out of Jail soon!

Busy Signal is expected to be released from a US prison in another two weeks and returned to Jamaica, according to his attorney, Queen’s Counsel KD Knight.

“Well, you can quote me on this,” Knight said. “I expect that he will be released in a short period, about two weeks.”

There was much anticipation that Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, would be in the island today following rumours that he had been released.

The artiste was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Jamaica in May on an extradition warrant from the US. He declined to contest his extradition to the United States from where he fled 10 years ago while facing drug charges.

He was extradited to the US on June 19 after the legal team of Knight and Charles ‘Advoket’ Ganga-Singh argued that he could only be charged with absconding bail as was outlined in his extradition papers.

He pleaded guilty to absconding bail and received a six-month prison sentence.

He, however, was to serve two months in prison as he has spent four months in jail awaiting his trial.
