Wayne Marshall ‘Goes Hard’

Wayne Marshall has scored an impressive three million views in 24 hours of the release of the video for the hit single Go Hard.

The video premiered on the mega website worldstarhiphop.com registering an incredible debut when compared with big rap hits in the US market. WorldStarHipHop is an American hip-hop site, shock site and content-aggregating video blog. The site, since 2005, averages 1.1 million unique visitors a day. Alexia ranks the site 247th in site traffic in the United States and 983rd for worldwide traffic.

The single is produced by Baby G on the Ghetto Youths International label. Go Hard features top Jamaican deejays such as Aidonia, Bounty Killer, Agent Sasco, I-Octane, Vybz Kartel and Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley. Wayne Marshall believes the song resonates with fans as it features a positive message about perseverance and being goal-oriented. He feels the message is well received because fans can relate to the artistes featured.

“The single is a masterpiece, its catchy, filled with a good mix of lyrical content, various styles from artiste that are loved by many. Filming the video was easy. We had a great vibe, all brethren vibing,” Marshall explained.

The video, conceptualised and shot by famed creative director Ras Kassa, features all the artistes on, the single and illustrates a series of competitive environments where pushing the barrier yield results. There is an impressive transition to each artiste, unveiled through a dark curtain with an air of mystique. Kassa describes the collaboration as a “magical moment for dancehall.”

He also describes the video’s accomplishment, as “awesome” and congratulates Wayne on a job well done. “The music is the inspiration for the concept,” he said. “Damian and I had a conversation about the look and feel of the video and the music created the artistic direction to complete the video.”

Marshall has a litany of collaborations showcasing his diversity and creative talents in music. Collaborations with Konshens, Tarrus Riley, TOK, and other top artiste will be included on his upcoming album.

The Go Hard single is one of several projects on the Ghetto Youths International label that have been unveiled this year.
