There are two Jamaican female acts in the Top 10 of the Billboard Reggae Album Chart this week. Vanessa Bling’s EP, Still Standing, rises from number 17 to its highest position of five, while last week’s number one Captured , by Spice, tumbles to number 10.
There is a new number one. Sugar Shack Sessions Vol 3 (EP) by American reggae-rock sextet Fortunate Youth is the Hermosa Beach, California, act’s fifth number one and their ninth title on the chart.
Their previous chart-toppers are Sugar Shack Sessions Vol 2, It’s All A Jam, Don’t Think Twice and last year’s self-titled set.
Moving up two places to number two is Defy Gravity by The Elovaters, while Beres Hammond’s former number one, Never Ending, holds firm at number three.
Slightly Stoopid’s Everyday Life, Everyday People jumps from number nine to four, while 44/876 by Sting and Shaggy remains in the number six spot.
Poetry in Motion by SOJA falls from number five to seven.
One Day by Common Kings, which peaked at number two in August, returns to the Top 10 at number eight. This is their fifth time on the chart; the group’s previous set, Lost in Paradise, topped the chart in February last year and was nominated for a Best Reggae Album Grammy.
