Carib Soca Monarch quarters tomorrow!

The Mackenzie Sports Club Ground is expected to explode on Saturday when 22 contenders in this year’s Carib Soca Monarch compete in the quarter- finals to secure spots in the semis slated for February 9, at the Rose Hall/ Canje Ground.

Entering the competition this year are: Adrian Dutchin with “ Jook”; Anthony Abrams with “ Pose”; Atiola Peters with “ Nail the Wood”; Colbert Dublin with “ Shaking It”; Compton Boyce with “ We Don’t Know”; King Shepherd with “ More Wuk Up”; Ernesta Nelson with her entry called “ Twirl” and Ivelaw Maxwell with “ Soca Victim”. The others include: G- Money with his entry “ Big Belly vs Bumpa”; James Gordon with “ Soca Mascara”; Jermaine Mc Bean with “ Storm De Road”; Jonathan King with “ Never Stop”; Barbadian, Kirk Brown with “ That is All I Want”; Roger Bowen with “ Looking fuh Bumper”; Kwesi Edmondson with “ Same Thing” and Shondel London with her piece titled “ Hard Wuk”. Topping off the 22 contenders are: Rawleston Warde with “ Invasion”; Yohlanda Kerr with “ Is We Festival”; Vanilla and B52 with “ Tear De Roof”; Onassis Croker with “ Unite Together”; Bonesman with his entry “ Done Them” and ending the list of the 22 quarter- finalist is Quacy Coates with “ Work It”.

Five artistes will be eliminated at the quarter- final leg of the competition and another five at the semis in Berbice.

The grand finale is slated for the National Park on February 16. Tickets for the quarter- finals cost $ 500 and will be available at the gates.
