Check out the newly launched designer collection, Shomathelable by Shoma Persaud.
Both from Trinidad and Tobago, the designer and Pulse model, Shalisha Stewart, collaborated to produce a fashion story inspired by the old country, as well as the carnival masquerade for which the twin-island republic is known.
“What I love about the collection is how accessible it is. I love the florals and free form and the room to move in the pieces, they make me feel like a beautiful woman, empowered by Caribbean energy,” Stewart said. With her international experience working for European brands, including Hermès, Esprit and Études, Stewart feels it is vital to encourage young Caribbean designers. “I am happy to support new talent, and I am excited to be part of the brand’s beginning,” she said.
